WHO WAS PILATES


THE PILATES METHOD WAS DEVELOPED BY JOSEPH H. PILATES OVER LIFETIME OF STUDYING THE HUMAN BODY AND MOVEMENT.
HE ORIGINALLY CALLED HIS METHOD "CONTROLOGY" WHICH BECAME COMMONLY KNOWN AMONG HIS CLIENTS AND STUDENTS AS PILATES.
PILATES OUTLINES HIS PHILOSOPHIES, PRINCIPALS AND WORKOUT METHOD IN HIS BOOK "PILATES: RETURN TO LIFE THROUGH CONTROLOGY" PUBLISHED IN 1945.
AFTER HIS PASSING HIS WIFE CLARA AND ROMANA KRYZANOWSKA CONTINUED TO TRAIN CLIENTS IN HIS ORIGINAL METHOD AT HIS STUDIO NEW YORK CITY. INTO THE TWENTIETH FIRST CENTURY ROMANA CONTINUED TO TRAIN STUDENTS IN HIS ORIGINAL METHOD.

 

WHY CLASSICAL

JOSEPH PILATES DEVELOPED A SYSTEM OF EXERCISE DONE ON SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OF HIS OWN DESIGN AT FIRST CALLED "CONTROLOGY".
ITS FOCUS IS ON A STRONG CORE SO YOU HAVE A STRONG CENTER FROM WHICH TO MOVE. INSTEAD OF WORKING MAJOR MUSCLE GROUPS IN ISOLATION, CLASSICAL PILATES WORKS THE WHOLE BODY MAKING EACH MOVEMENT A WHOLE BODY EFFORT.

 

조셉 필라테스 (JOSEPH PILATES)는 처음에는 "CONTROLOGY"라 불리는 자신이 디자인한 특수 장비로 수행되는 운동 시스템을 개발했습니다.
우리 몸의 핵심은 강한 복근 ("STRONG CORE" )이고 강한 센터를 중심으로 움직입니다.
클래식 필라테스는 주요 근육 그룹을 고립시키지 않고 전신을 작동시켜 각 운동을 전신 작업으로 만들어진 전신운동입니다.

FOUNDER AVA YOUNG KIM, A FORMER MODERN DANCER, CHOREOGRAPHER, HAS STUDIED AND WAS COMPLETED THE CLASSICAL TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM WITH STUDENTS OF BOTH JOSEPH PILATES AND ROMANA. WITH ENDLESS CURIOSITY AND PASSION TOWARDS LEARNING, AVA HAS CONTINUED TO STUDIED AND PRACTICED CLASSICAL PILATES WITH MASTER TEACHERS OVER 10 YEARS IN NYC.
NOW AVA WOULD LOVE TO SHARE HER KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND PASSION OF HER 20 YEARS NEW YORK LIFE WITH CLIENTS AND STUDENTS IN KOREA.
